What I learned from letting go and being yourself

letting go and being yourself

Sometimes letting go and being yourself is all that you need to do to manifest all your desires. At some point in our lives, we all want this. While to many it might seem like a simple thing to do, the truth is that often at times, it’s not. However, although it’s a long and tough journey, it’s very possible.

Several years back, I was in a bad place and that point I realized that it is very much possible to be yourself and learn to live without being covered up with conditioned, fear-based thinking. At first it was hard, but eventually, when I did let go, that’s when the reality dawned on me that sometimes it’s only by letting go that we get clarity and open doorways to better things in life. Here’s what I’ve learned from letting go and being yourself that will help you know who you are and uncover your hidden potential despite all the challenges that you might have faced.

1. It is tough

It is never easy to let go and at the same time be yourself. You will need to make tough decisions and you will also experience some feeling of loneliness. But, being yourself is more than just about how it feels and what others think. It’s about being confident in your decisions and trusting your intuition, even when things are tough, and most especially when things are tough.

When you are your true self, you can easily let go of everything that wears you down, the fears and judgments and naturally embrace who you are without masking yourself or being pretentious. There are moments that you will cry, but with time everything will work out as long as you don’t lose hope.

2. There are those who won’t agree with you

Always living your life seeking the approval of others can either make or break you and if you are not careful, it will break you. This is because sometimes being yourself and finally letting go can be taken negatively, but you don’t have to feed your soul from collecting the approval of others. It all comes down to a choice depending on what you want and intend to achieve.

People don’t have to like your decisions and you don’t have to give any explanations about it either. You should be ready to get many negative comments from friends and those around you, especially when you are letting go of something or someone that they feel you shouldn’t. Even some family members might tell you that you are making the wrong decision, but remember that it all comes down to you. From my experience, some would even be angry at you for your decisions and others would even translate their own life experiences in an attempt to make you change your mind.

3. The quality of your thoughts matter

You need to improve the quality of your thoughts. This is an important factor when letting go. It’s okay if you can just be yourself and let go without being fearful of hurting other people’s feelings. Negative thoughts will definitely pop up, but you have the power to determine what you allow into your mind. Let go of old negative thinking patterns and know what it is that you want. This will help to shape and condition your thinking as well as enable you to become aware of the quality of your thinking.

4. It brings a feeling of freedom

We should all learn from small children who are always free without limiting themselves based on what other people think of them. Children are free, know how to have fun and enjoy every moment. They are known to display a love that is not only pure and affectionate, but they also have the ability to light up a gloomy environment. Being in touch with your inner child teaches you to learn to be less serious, reveals your true nature, brings happiness and embrace every moment with yourself enabling you to achieve your goals.

There is Power in letting go and being yourself. Once you let go, follow your intuition to attract more happiness into your life and avoid being obligated to others. Don’t be afraid of what other people would think of you, of failing, and of stepping out of your comfort zone since this would make you unhappy. Follow the little urges that you get. Though there will be bumps in the road, when you are in alignment with your soul, you will always be steered in the best direction.

Begin with small things, such as following through when you feel the urge to do something such as make a phone call or do things differently. When you detach and connect with your inner self and start by doing and appreciating the small things in your life, the big things and opportunities will always come your way.

You have the strength to keep your life in order, even with tears in your eyes, know that despite all the challenges, you shall make it through, so stay strong. Always do good deeds and remember that you are an amazing being.
